Your questions answered

What’s the difference between a Kaymed mattress and a traditional mattress?

Every Kaymed mattress is made from Kaymed visco-elastic. Visco-elastic is unique because it is “body-responsive”, softening under contact points with the body. No other material has this property, so no other mattress has the same ability to contour and conform to your unique shape.

Won’t I feel hot or sweaty sleeping on a visco mattress?

Every Kaymed visco-elastic mattresses actually helps to dissipate heat and moisture away from the body. Now, Kaymed have enhanced this benefit by adding our patented AirLayer™ to every Kaymed mattress to help keep you comfortable and fresh while you sleep.

Are Kaymed mattresses available in firm, medium and soft options?

Because Kaymed manufactures the widest range of mattress grade visco-elastic materials, we can offer mattress models to suit all tastes. We can even produce king size mattresses with different firmness options for each half of the sleeping surface.

Will the visco mattress help relieve oesteoporosis, low back-pain, sciatica, arthritis or slipped disc?

Successive independent studies have demonstrated the healthcare benefits of Kaymed mattresses. Pressure reducing mattresses are widely recommended by chiropractors all over the world.
In fact, Kaymed mattresses are used in many orthopaedic hospitals.

How long does it take to get used to the visco mattress?

It can vary. Some people find that they enjoy the benefits straight away whilst others can take a couple of weeks to get used to the ‘floatation’ feeling. However, once accustomed to it, our customers seldom want to change back to a more traditional mattress.

Do all Kaymed mattresses meet the appropriate safety regulations?

Kaymed has been at the forefront of standard-setting and compliance for over 40 years. In fact, Kaymed visco was developed to comply with the strict British and Irish Furniture and Furnishings Flame Safety Regulations and all the relevant EU safety standards.

How often should I turn my Kaymed mattress?

Never. All Kaymed mattresses are turn free.
